Photoderm along with the application of the Levulan Kerastick has had great success in conjunction with this type of treatment.

It is designed to treat actinic keratoses, pre skin cancer lesions, acne rosacea, improve fine lines, broken blood vessels, reduce pore size, superficial acne lesions, and improve brown spots caused by sun damage and age. Multiple procedures are usually required.

The Levulan Kerastick will be applied for one hour before your photoderm treatment. During the procedure you may experience stinging, tingling and warmth. You must stay out of the sun completely for 24 hours. You must wear a hat and scarf and stay in a windowless room for the first 24 hours. The skin will turn red and may have some swelling and crusting. You may have the appearance of sunburn during the first week of recovery. After the first week there may be some residual redness that will subside after a few days.

Patients must protect the skin from additional sun exposure until all redness has resolved.
